I filled my new Bulkfiller but the ink doesn’t seem to reach the tip. Am I doing something wrong?
This is nothing unusual with a new Bulkfiller. Although the parts are cleaned in the assembly process, an air bubble might anchor to the sides of the barrel for, like it is the case on your Bulkfiller.
We would suggest you do the following:
- While holding the pen nib-up, remove the nib unit be screwing
- Use a cotton swab that is slightly moist to reach down into the narrow hole of the barrel and clean the walls by gently rubbing.
- Then, rinse the backside of the nib unit, and use your fingers to coat the metal pin in a very thin layer of liquid soap (hand soap or dishwashing soap). This will break the surface tension of the air bubble and allow a much smoother transition.
- Put everything back together. Mind the O-rings!
If the hand nut is open, slowly tilting your Bulkfiller will allow the air bubble to travel back to the main reservoir on the top side of the barrel, while the ink can move freely down at the bottom side.
